C.C. Lockwood’s Latest Work Spotlighted in New Roads Exhibit
Mayor Robert Myer and the City of New Roads will host a special art exhibit and reception featuring some of Pointe Coupee Parish’s best artists, as well as renowned Atchafalaya Basin photographer C.C. Lockwood, on Wednesday (July 12) at 7 p.m. at the New Roads Information Center.
The Information Center is located in downtown New Roads, at 116 W. Main Street, across from City Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
“This will be a great opportunity to meet several artists who have so uniquely captured the beauty and essence of our surrounding community and this great geographic region. I am honored to feature their work in our city,” Myer said.
Lockwood will give a presentation of his latest work, “C.C. Lockwood’s Atchafalaya.” The photographer is well known for his exploration of the Atchafalaya River, having captured its haunting beauty on film for 30 years. Also featured at the exhibit will be works of Ann Bachman, Dianne Christopher, Anita Lejeune, Devon Plauche, Robin Fournet, Lana Bernard Toniolo, Carol Reames, Carol Hurst, Brittany Pollard, Helena Reynolds, Lu McCaskill, Chase Mullen and Christina Price.
