From fishing on the river at sunset and strolling through quaint antique stores, to decadent dining and diverse festivals  New Roads is a community for fun and families.” - Mayor Robert Myer

Mayor's Welcome

I want to welcome you to the City of New Roads, one of Louisiana’s most historic and scenic settlements.  Our city is famous for its Mardi Gras parades, its scenic view of False River and its rich Creole culture and hospitality.

We welcome you to visit our shops along Main Street, take time to tour our beautiful Pointe Coupee Parish Courthouse or the nearby St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or sit awhile at one of our popular restaurants and sample the wonderful cuisine.  We also invite you to stay overnight at one of our local bed and breakfast establishments and take time to get to know our people and our culture.

Our city embodies the quiet charm of the Old South, yet it is poised to thrive in today’s growing state economy.  Our city is investing in infrastructure improvements, growing economic opportunities for our local businesses and partnering with state and national interests to further promote the city as a unique tourism destination.  Take time to visit this website and learn more about the opportunities that await you in New Roads.
