8thAnnual Spring Street Festival and Car Show in New Roads Set for March 18
NEW ROADS, La. – One of the state’s largest and most popular car shows will once again be held in scenic downtown New Roads on March 18.
The 8thAnnual Spring Street Festival and Car Show will feature a wide variety of vehicles, including antique trucks and cars, motorcycles, “tricked-out” cars and a large display of corvettes and icon models. The free event will be held along Main Street on beautiful False River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes shopping and local food vendors.
“Each year, this event features hundreds of cars and thousands of people for a day of fun and nostalgia. The event continues to grow and gain in popularity each year,” Mayor Robert Myer said.
Myer noted that more than 100 awards will be presented that day to registered participants. In addition to its best engine and best interior awards, the city will also present awards for Top 50, Sponsor’s Choice, Best Car, Best Truck, Longest Haul and Best in Show. Myer thanked H&W Signs and Philip’s Automotive for being major sponsors of this year’s event.
“We have a wonderfully diverse group of people who participate in our festival. They love their cars and they love to show them off, and the people who visit really appreciate them,” Myer said.
Myer said car, truck and motorcycle owners can still register to participate in the March 18 show. Advance vehicle registrations are $25 and can be made by calling the New Roads City Hall at 225-638-5360, or automobile owners can pay $35 to register on the day of the show.
The show is sponsored by the City of New Roads and the New Roads Main Street Program.
